TiVo has joined hands with Jaman.com. Jaman is an indie distributor as well as a distributor of international films. It’s business is done online. This deal between Jaman.com and TiVo is to increase the amount of pics available to the TiVo digital video recording service. It is a content deal.
The financial terms of this deal have been kept under wraps. This partnership with Jaman means that TiVo subscribers will be able to access thousands of Netco Library pics which include Bollywood pics. They can do this through their DVR’s. These pics include “Paheli”, “Loverboy” which is a Sundance entry, “All About Lily Chou-Chou” which features in the Berlin fest, and “La Promesse” which was screened both in Toronto and Cannes.
This service will be available on Tivo Series 3 and Series 2 in the coming months. This will complement TiVo’s Amazon Unbox offerings. Films will be purchaseable as well as rentable starting as low as $1.99. A number of films, both full length as well as shorts will be available for free.
According to Jaman CEO Gaurav Dhillon, their catalog of award winning films will be now easily accessable and can be browsed comfortably on the TV.
